Best Diablo 3 Inferno Builds

We all know that Diablo 3′s Inferno mode is going to be hard. Hard may even be an understatement. However, what’s most important, is that it won’t be impossible for neither the solo player or a group. With that being said, having a character set up with one of the best Diablo 3 Inferno build, is going to be essential if you want to make it out of Act 1.

The ability to pick a class and build a successful character for Diablo 3 Inferno is going to separate the real gamers from the people that just want to roam around and kill stuff. Of course we all want to roam around and kill stuff, but the difficulty of Diablo 3 Inferno will make it very important to set up your character correctly if you want to be successful.

Here are a few tips for building one of the best Diablo 3 Inferno builds:

  • Make sure to have a strong single target attack- Area of Effect (AoE) attacks are typically the most entertaining attacks. Reigning fire across the whole map is cool, but it won’t work even for the Act 1 boss, the Skeleton King. Hell, it probably won’t work for champion packs. You’re going to need a strong single target attack to fight bosses.
  • Use AoE abilities for regular packs and enemies- I know I just preached the the value of a strong single attack, but AoE attacks need to be used in order to get to the bosses which will require single target attacks. Choose an AoE ability that complements your party or plays to your overall weaknesses as a character.
  • Don’t ignore defensive abilities- Diablo 3 defensive abilities are not very exciting or sexy. For whatever reason they don’t get a lot of credence, but believe me, they are important, especially for Inferno. If you’re questing with a group, use two defensive abilities, one for yourself and one to aid your group. If you’re soloing, use two individual defensive abilities.
  • Make sure to balance resources- If you’re a Barbarian and you run out of Fury, you’re dead to the water. You need to balance your resources and make sure you are generating enough so that you don’t die. Make sure to have skills that use resources, skills that don’t require resources and gear and rune choices that help regenerate it.

Sample of a Diablo 3 Inferno Build

Because of all the combinations of active skills, passive skills, and runestones, there’s a good chance your character will be fairly unique amongst others. I’m sure there will be plenty of arguing over which player has the best Diablo 3 Inferno build, but if you’re successful, and are able to get through Inferno without excessively dying, who cares who has the best build?

Here is a sample of a Diablo 3 Witch Doctor Inferno build that I would like to share, that takes many of the above suggestions into account.

Witchdoctor- “Summoner build focused on ranged attacks and surviving”

Active skills: Corpse Spiders, Locust Swarm, Summon Zombie Dogs, Gargantuan, Fetish Army, Big Bad Voodoo

Passive skills: Jungle Fortitude, Bad Medicine, Jungle Handler

The Zombie Dogs and Gargantuan will stay alive nicely with the +20 from Jungle Handler. In addition, Leaching Beasts Rune will provide additional Lifesteal. Jungle Fortitude helps with Damage Reduction. Fetish army provides good Damage Burst with Legion of Dagggers rune. Big Bad Voodoo helps with more damage with +20 attack and movement speed. Use the Ghost Trance rune due to its help with healing and damage increase as well.

Locust swarm should be cast often for packs of monsters. This right here is your best AoE attack for Inferno Witch Doctor. You even get more damage reduction with this as well. Corpse Spiders with the Leaping Spider rune is a great cheap skill, and serves as our spam skill. If mana becomes a problem, Widowmakers rune can help regenerate mana.

Overall, this build will help you stay alive with all the decreased damage and with its ability to fight from afar. This is a great build for Diablo 3 Inferno!
