Diablo 3 Enchantress Builds

The Enchantress, which goes by the name Eirena, is an enchanting, spell-casting Follower found in Diablo 3. The Enchantress’s  main strengths come from a combination of ranged support that mostly consist of spells and other magical implements that disorient enemies and protect her allies. The Enchantress is very defensive in nature so she doesn’t deal a great deal of direct damage.

Before we get into how to create the best Diablo 3 Enchantress build, lets take a look at the key features of the Enchantress. They include:

  • Debilitating magic- the Enchantress has the ability to cast bewitching spells that mean trouble for enemies. These spells can disorient enemies and even turn them against one another!
  • Arcane blasts- while the strengths of the Enchantress consist mostly of defensive spells, she is also able to cast arcane blasts which do damage to enemies or send them backwards.
  • Supportive spells- this feature basically helps you in two ways; it can increase the damage of your attack or provide protection from damage taken.

Best Equipment for Diablo 3 Enchantress Builds

The Enchantress differs from the Templar and Scoundrel, as she is given a two-handed weapon slot. This is interesting since the Enchantress’s main premise errs on the defensive side, yet she is given the ability to handle various two-handed weapons.

The Enchantress has the following equipment slots:

  • Weapons- Two Handed- to include axes, maces, staves and swords.
  • Armor- Jewelery- to include amulets and rings
  • Armor- Follower Special- to include Enchantress Focuses.

In order to build the best D3 Enchantress, you will need to find good equipment consisting of a good two handed weapon, amulet, ring and Enchantress Focus. Try to find a good max level Mace or Axe with +random properties.

The two best Enchantress Focuses are the Cauldron and Herb, requiring level 55 and 58, respectively. The other Enchantress Focuses, starting from level 21 required, are mirror, eye, scrying glass, blink, crucible, root, eternity mirror and oculous. I would try to get the highest level Enchantress Focus in order to have the best D3 Enchantress build.

Best Skills for Diablo 3 Enchantress

The best skills for the Diablo 3 Enchantress really depend on your character class and your overall weaknesses. Some skills will benefit certain classes better than other classes, however, it is normally accepted that skills that have higher level requirements will be more effective.

The Enchantress is given access to skills starting at level 15 with two skills known as Charm and Disorient. These entry- level skills both have long cooldown times of 15 seconds. Charm basically tricks an enemy to fight for you for 8-11 seconds and Disorient does exactly that, disorients enemies for anywhere from 9-18 seconds. These two skills are relatively weak. Charm tricks an enemy to fight for you, but most enemies have relatively weak attacks to begin with. Disorient can be an effective way to get out of harms way, but the second you inflict damage upon a disoriented enemy, the effect is broken.

Level 20 gives you the option between two more skills, Powered Armor and Reflect Missiles. Powered Armor is a defensive spell that aids the Enchantress and her allies which increases armor by 10% and slows attackers by 40% for 3 seconds. Reflect Missiles places a shield on the Enchantress and her allies that protects from incoming projectiles for 5 seconds. The effects of this skill will only work if you are below 50% of your maximum health. The cooldown of Reflect Missiles is 20 seconds. These skills seem to be a bit more powerful than the level 15 skills.

Level 25 gives you access to two powerful skills known as Forceful Push and Scorched Earth. Finally, a pair of powerful skills. Forceful Push can summon an arcane explosion in a 15 yard diameter around an enemy. This explosions deals 200% weapon damage as arcane damage and knocks back enemies caught within. Scorched Earth turns an area of the ground into a pool of arcane energy for 3 seconds. Enemies caught in the pool are afflicted an additional 50% damage from all attacks for 3 seconds, take 50% weapon damage as arcane damage per second and are slowed by 75% The cooldown for both of these skills is 10 seconds.

Level 30 yields 2 skills that require cooldowns of 30 seconds each, Focused Mind and Mass Hex. Due to long cooldown times, and otherwise unexciting effects, these two skills don’t look much better than level 25 skills. Focused mind increases attack speed of the Enchantress and her allies by 10% for 10 seconds and Mass Hex will turn all enemies within 15 yards of the spell into chickens for 4 seconds. Mass Hex only works when a player is low on life.

The Best Diablo 3 Enchantress Build Summary

Building the best D3 Enchantress is not as daunting task as appears. Equip her with the best possible two-handed sword or stave, preferably a high level legend or rare crafted as this will give you a good attack rating. Enchantress Focuses can be a great way to increase the effectiveness of your Follower. I recommend finding a Focus with a high level requirement such as the Herb or Cauldron. Lastly, choose the appropriate skills that work well with your chosen character class if you decide to choose the Enchantress with your follower. The Enchantress would make a good complement to Witch Doctors, Barbarians or Monks.
